The survey date for Quarter 3 was 1 September 2025.
Latest results
- The latest employee jobs estimate for Northern Ireland as of September 2025 was 838,200. Employee jobs decreased by -0.3% over the quarter (-2,190 jobs) and increased by +1.0% over the year (+8,180 jobs).
- In the last five years, employee jobs have increased by +8.6% (+66,530 jobs) to 838,200.
- Employee jobs increased over the quarter within the construction sector (+50 jobs). Quarterly decreases in employee jobs were seen within the manufacturing (-1,220 jobs), services (-1,010 jobs) and the other industry (-10 jobs) sectors.
- There were increases in employee jobs over the year within the construction (+2,420 jobs) and services (+6,630 jobs) sectors. Employee jobs decreased over the year within the manufacturing (-420 jobs) and other industry (-450 jobs) sectors.
- Public sector jobs increased over the quarter (+230 jobs) and increased over the year (+2,940 jobs) reaching a series high of 230,080 jobs.
- Private sector jobs decreased over the quarter (-1,830 jobs) and increased over the year (+4,810 jobs) to a jobs total of 608,340 jobs.
