In 2020...There were 17,614 deaths registered. Cancer was the leading cause of death, followed by circulatory disease.
Revision notice 28 June 2022: Cause of death tables have been revised in light of the findings of the Review of Suicide Statistics which was published on 26 March 2022. Cause of death tables now include the full breakdown of external causes of death as well as the specific tables of accidents and suicides.
