New official statistics published today by NISRA present short-term job estimates for Northern Ireland for quarter 1 2025
Key findings:
- The number of seasonally adjusted employee jobs reached a new series high of 840,750 in March 2025.
- Quarterly increases in employee jobs were seen within the manufacturing (+560 jobs), construction (+1,570 jobs) and services (+6,230 jobs) sectors.
- Annual increases in employee jobs were seen within the manufacturing (+1,740 jobs), construction (+2,700 jobs) and services (+13,300 jobs) sectors.

This publication provides employee jobs estimates, calculated from the Quarterly Employment Survey (QES) aspect of the Quarterly Business Survey (QBS). The QES has a sample size of approximately 6,000 and covers all employers with 25 or more employees, all public sector employers, all businesses with more than one industry activity and a representative sample of smaller firms.
