New official statistics published today by NISRA statisticians in the Department of Health present information on patient education/self management programmes for people with long term conditions 2023/24.
Key findings:
- 13,002 persons attended a patient education programme in 2023/24,
- 91% of programmes were delivered by HSC Trusts, 9% by independent providers,
- The top 3 programmes types by participant numbers were Stoke (3,700), Dementia (1,732) and Diabetes type 2 (1,447).
