- In Quarter 1 2025, the total volume of construction output decreased by 5.1% over the quarter. However, the series increased by 3.6% over the year and increased by 9.6% on a rolling four quarters basis.
- In Quarter 1 2025, construction output saw the first quarter of annual decline following four consecutive quarters of growth.
- In the first quarter of 2025 construction output was 15.5% above the pre-pandemic level seen in Quarter 4 2019 and is 70.2% above the series low seen in Quarter 2 2020.
- In Quarter 1 2025, decreases were seen in both New Work (7.0%) and Repair and Maintenance (3.6%).
- In Quarter 1 2025, there was a decrease in both the Housing (15.1%) and Other Work (0.6%) subsectors. However, the Infrastructure subsector increased by 4.2%.
