Overview

Demographic Statistics Advisory Group (DSAG) plays a key role in supporting the Census Office for Northern Ireland. It provides expert advice on the planning and delivery of the decennial census, conducted under the Census Act (Northern Ireland) 1969.

What DSAG does

DSAG advises on:

  • The conduct of the population and housing census in Northern Ireland.
  • How to enhance the relevance, quality, and usefulness of national and sub-national demographic statistics produced by NISRA.

The group represents the interests of key census data users and helps ensure that outputs meet the needs of a wide range of stakeholders.
