An error has been identified in the UK production of the 2018-based National Population Projections. The error was caused by incorrect processing of cross-border flows, resulting in the projected mid-2028 population for Wales being approximately 65,000 too low, and that for England being approximately 65,000 too high.  Corrected projections for Wales were published in June 2020, and references to Wales in the Northern Ireland Statistical Bulletin have been corrected.  There have been no changes to the projections for Northern Ireland. Further information can be found on the Office for National Statistics website.
