Date published: 23 October 2019

Life satisfaction is one of the four areas of personal wellbeing

.  The question asked on the Labour Force Survey is "overall, how satisfied are you with your life nowadays?".

People are asked to respond on a scale of 0 to 10, where 0 is “not at all” and 10 is “completely”.

In 2019/20, the average life satisfaction score of people with disabilities was 6.99.  The average life satisfaction score of people with disabilities remains significantly lower than that of those without a disability (8.20).
