What a typical day involves
In my current role within the Dissemination Branch, I am responsible for providing web analytics on publications, HTML pages, and downloads for various branches within NISRA.
I also approve and check tables on the NISRA Data Portal, ensuring that the correct codes and values are used.
Additionally, I produce news stories for new publication releases, when required, offering a brief overview of the contents of the newly published material.
What software do you use
In my current role, I make use of several software tools including Google Analytics, Looker Studio, Excel, SharePoint, R Studio, and PowerPoint.
Google Analytics and Looker Studio are used to produce web analytics for various NISRA branches.
Excel is primarily used in conjunction with the NISRA Data Portal to format tables before they are uploaded.
SharePoint was used to develop an interactive guidance document detailing how to use the Data Portal, including instructions on uploading tables, creating an account, and resolving common user errors.
PowerPoint was used to deliver two training sessions—one for new Assistant Statisticians and another for external users of the Data Portal.
R Studio is used to create HTML pages and is now being utilised to generate quarterly web analytics outputs, compiling data on downloads, views, and users for publications on the NISRA website.
