New official statistics published today by NISRA statisticians in the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) present information on police recorded drug seizures and arrests between 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026.
Key findings
Between 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026:
- There were 7,296 drug seizure incidents, an increase of 269 (3.8%) compared with the previous 12 months.
- There was an increase in seizure incidents across all drug classes.
- Cannabis (Class B) was the most commonly seized drug, followed by cocaine (Class A) and pregabalin (Class C).
- Six policing districts showed an increase in the number of drug seizure incidents.
- There were 3,123 drug-related arrests, an increase of 67 (2.2%) compared with the previous 12 months.
