Motoring offences accounted for 44.2% of prosecutions at all courts

New official statistics published today by NISRA statisticians in the Department of Justice (DoJ) present information on court prosecutions, convictions and out of court disposals for the 2025 calendar year.
Key findings
During the 2025 calendar year:
- Motoring offences made up 44.2% (12,239) of prosecutions at all courts.
- The number of prosecutions dealt with at all courts was 27,695.
- 84.9% (23,526) of prosecutions resulted in a conviction.
- 3,415 out of court diversionary disposals were administered.
- 228 Penalty Notices for Disorder (PNDs) were issued.
