New accredited official statistics published by NISRA statisticians in the Business Services Organisation (BSO) present information on dental services in Northern Ireland during quarter one 2026/27.
Key findings
During quarter one 2026/27:
- Dentist headcount was 1,174, a decrease of 1.5% compared with quarter one 2025/26.
- Patient registrations were 933,427, a decrease of 3.4% compared with quarter one 2025/26.
- The number of dental practices was 349, a decrease of 2.2% compared with quarter one 2025/26.
- The number of fillings completed was 124,373, a decrease of 8.0% compared with quarter one 2025/26.
- The number of extractions completed was 27,474, a decrease of 10.4% compared with quarter one 2025/26.
