Couples with children most common household type in Northern Ireland

The Labour Force Survey (LFS) household results were released at 9.30am today.
The most common type of households in January-March 2026 were couples with children (33%), one person households (25%) and couples with no children (25%).
Over half (55%) of households in Northern Ireland in January-March 2026 were work rich (all household members aged 16 or over were employed) and 16% were workless (where all household members aged 16 or over were unemployed or inactive).
