Agricultural crime remained among lowest levels since 2010/11

New official statistics published today by NISRA statisticians in the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) present information on agricultural and rural crime between 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026.
Key findings
Between 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026:
- There were 199 agricultural crimes recorded in Northern Ireland, an increase of 15 compared with the previous 12 months. Despite this increase, it remains one of the lowest 12-month figures recorded since the data series began in 2010/11.
- 97% of agricultural crime was identified as occurring in rural settlement areas.
- Agricultural crime represented 0.9% of all burglary, robbery and theft offences.
- Newry, Mourne and Down recorded the highest level of agricultural crime, with 41 offences.
- Five policing districts experienced an increase in agricultural crime, while six experienced a decrease.
