This survey is the biggest regular household survey in Northern Ireland. It is a quarterly sample survey of about 2,700 private households and enquires about householder´s personal circumstances and work. It provides a rich source of information about the labour force using internationally agreed concepts and definitions. The main purpose of the survey is to obtain data on a number of key labour market characteristics, eg unemployment, employment, self employment, hours worked, earnings etc.
