statisDCAL Libraries Bulletin was published by DCAL Research and Statistics Branch. The bulletin presents statistics on library visits -frequency of visits, reasons for not visiting, and overall satisfaction with library provision in Northern Ireland.

Research and Statistical Bulletin 1/2006, which is the first ever published by DCAL Research and Statistics Branch, is the first in a planned series which will look at DCAL related areas such as sports, the arts and museums and will be published during 2006. The statistics in the bulletin are derived from NISRA’s Continuous Household survey.

The Bikesafe assessed ride scheme gives riders the opportunity to participate in a free assessed ride with an advanced police motorist as well as receiving profesional advice on how to improve their riding skills. This report details the opinions of those respondents who particpated in the Bikesafe assessed ride scheme.

The aim of this report is to help provide a clearer understanding of the patterns and circumstances of fatal and serious (KSI) motorcycle collisions in the period 1st January 2000 to 31st December 2004. This in turn may help to reduce the number of collisions involving motorcyclists through the development of appropriate road safety strategies.

06/01/2006 PSNI Seatbelt Wearing Report 2000-2004

Seat belt wearing rates are derived from traffic surveys where occupants of the relevant vehicles (cars) are monitored at selected locations and their seat belt wearing recorded. An overall occupant wearing rate is calculated along with individual rates for drivers, front seat passengers and rear seat passengers.
