Data Dictionary

The NILS data dictionary provides detailed information on all the variables held in the NILS database.  Users can select information on tables and search for variables of interest allowing them to explore the profiles of each, including data type, variable description, coding, counts etc.  Potential users are encouraged to explore the data dictionary to help them learn more on the NILS data.

The data dictionary is designed to be similar to that created for the Scottish LS, which you can explore by clicking on SLS Data Dictionary, and the England and Wales LS, which can be explored by clicking on E&WLS Data Dictionary.

The Data Dictionary is currently only available to download in Microsoft Access format, but it is planned to make this an online facility in the near future.
