NI Multiple Deprivation Measure 2005

The Northern Ireland Multiple Deprivation Measure (NI MDM) 2005, commissioned by NISRA from the Social Disadvantage Research Centre at the University of Oxford, is the current official measure of the spatial deprivation in use in Northern Ireland. NISRA have commenced work on updating the NI MDM 2005 with the meeting of the project Steering Group. Until publication of the final updated report in early 2010, the NI MDM 2005 remains the official measure of spatial deprivation in Northern Ireland.

The NISRA press release for the NIMDM 2005 was released on 26 May 2005.

The consultation period for the NIMDM 2005 ended on 29th October 2004.

Super Output Areas were developed by NISRA to improve the reporting of small area statistics.
