Published on 27th November 2014, the 2013 Annual Report, which is the 92nd report of the Registrar General for Northern Ireland is the most recent report available.
This report comprises of two main chapters. The first chapter provides detailed demographic statistics for Northern Ireland and highlights recent trends in births, stillbirths, deaths, infant deaths, marriages, civil partnerships, divorces and civil partnership dissolutions. Detailed statistical tables are available as a supplement to the report on compact disc and also on this website. This year the second chapter is a special article on the history of genealogy and discusses the main objectives and outputs of genealogical research. In November 2013, the General Register Office launched a website enabling customers to apply online for certified copies of civil registration records. In addition, due to the increasing popularity of genealogy, a new online service for searching family history was introduced in spring 2014.
