Health Areas
The most recently published population estimates for Health Areas relate to mid-2011 and are available for the five Health and Social Care Trusts in Northern Ireland, and also the previous four Health Boards. Following the Review of Public Administration, the number of Health Trusts was reduced
from 18 to five in 2006, with the number of Health Boards reduced from four to one in 2009.
As of 30th April 2013: The mid-2001 to mid-2011 population estimates at the Northern Ireland level have now been revised to take into account the 2011 Census results. These Northern Ireland level estimates are available here.
Sub-national population estimates are currently still based on the 2001 Census. Revised mid-2001 to mid-2011 population estimates at sub-national level (Local Government District (LGD), NUTSIII areas, Health Trusts (HSCT), Health Boards (HSSB) and Education & Library Boards (ELB)) are planned for June/July 2013.
